Report: Only 2% of Japan's Money Laundering Cases Involve Cryptocurrency

04:53 Thursday , December 06th 2018
As reported by CoinNess.com, the number of suspicious transactions submitted by virtual currency exchanges to the government has reached 5,944 from January to October, which is 8 times than that of last year.
The Japan Times' report disclosed that there were over 340,000 suspected cases of money laundering and abuse across all financial transactions during the same time period. Cryptocurrency money laundering then, makes up less than 2 percent of this figure, making it seem somewhat irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.
