The U.S. Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) has held a board meeting to discuss the implementation of the GENIUS Act, a proposed stablecoin regulation, CoinDesk reported. Under the act, the FDIC, which supervises U.S. depository institutions, would also be tasked with regulating institutions that issue stablecoins through their subsidiaries. To this end, the agency has proposed capital, liquidity, and custody standards for these firms, though the details will not be finalized until a final rule is established. The proposal confirms that stablecoins would not be eligible for the depositor protection benefits that banks provide for traditional deposits. It also includes requirements for capital that issuers must maintain to manage business risks and operational safeguards based on the previous year's operating expenses. The FDIC will collect public feedback on the 144 items in its proposal for 60 days before making revisions and finalizing the regulation.

A DeFi project associated with the Trump family, World Liberty Financial (WLFI), partnered with an entity connected to individuals under U.S. and UK sanctions, CoinDesk reported.
AB DAO, a Southeast Asia-based blockchain project that entered a partnership with WLFI last November, was found to have recently promoted a resort project linked to the Prince Group, a Cambodian criminal network. The resort project involved figures such as Chen Zhi, a Chinese national indicted by the U.S. government last October in connection with a "pig butchering" scam, which also led to an attempt to seize BTC.
According to the report, WLFI stated it had conducted due diligence before the partnership but was unaware that AB DAO had promoted the Prince Group-linked resort. The situation has raised concerns about WLFI's partner vetting process.

Digital asset investment products saw total net inflows of $224 million last week, with approximately 70% of that volume originating from Switzerland, CoinDesk reported.
Of the total, Switzerland accounted for $157 million, followed by Germany and the U.S. with $28 million each, and Canada with $11 million. The inflows were also heavily concentrated in specific assets, with XRP-related products attracting around $120 million, representing more than half of the total.
The majority of these XRP inflows came from European and other overseas exchange-traded products (ETPs). The five U.S.-listed XRP spot ETFs have recorded nearly zero daily inflows over the past two weeks. Similarly, while Bitcoin ETPs drew $107 million during the same period, only $22 million of that came from U.S. spot ETFs.
CoinDesk noted that this trend suggests U.S. investors are not currently making large-scale investments, concluding that the primary buyers are in Europe rather than the United States.
