To support the effort, Japan’s Financial Services Agency, the Ministry of Finance, the Bank of Japan, and major financial institutions plan to launch a related study group this summer. On-chain analyst Julio Moreno said Bitcoin’s market trend has shifted into a bull phase, with most indicators pointing to the early stage of a new upcycle. Moreno said two factors still warrant caution. For the bull market to be officially confirmed, Bitcoin needs to break above its 365-day moving average, currently at $83,000. Moreno added that a price correction remains possible, given high unrealized profits after the recent surge and potential selling pressure from a sharp increase in exchange inflows. Even so, Moreno said the overall data still signals a highly positive outlook.

Strategy’s biggest risk is not a decline in Bitcoin itself but whether it can keep tapping capital markets to cover $1.76 billion in annual financing costs, including dividends and interest, Regime Intelligence said in a recent report, according to Cointelegraph. The report said roughly $22 billion in debt and preferred equity claims sit behind Strategy’s 840,447 BTC holdings. It added that external financing is essential to sustain the company’s Bitcoin accumulation model. Because the structure is not backed by collateralized loans, the report said a drop in Bitcoin’s price would not create a risk of forced liquidation. Under its stress test, Strategy’s Bitcoin holdings and cash deposits would fail to cover convertible notes only if Bitcoin fell by about 96%, it said. Market analysts advise watching preferred stock price trends and the company’s dollar cash reserves, which currently cover about 2.6 times its annual financing costs.

Realio Network, a layer-one platform for tokenized real-world assets, halted its chain and blocked access to its web app after about 124.4 million RIO tokens were stolen, Crypto Briefing reported. Most of the compromised tokens, about 113.7 million RIO, were foundation-held tokens that had not been included in the previous circulating supply. About 10.7 million RIO, or roughly 3.3% of the prior circulating supply, was stolen from user accounts, while about 5.73 million RIO was drained from 2,374 personal accounts before the native chain was shut down. The attacker sold more than 2.5 million RIO on Stellar's DEX. No compensation plan for the 2,374 affected users or token custody measures have been announced.

World Liberty Financial CEO Zach Witkoff pushed back in a CNBC interview against allegations of conflicts of interest and preferential treatment surrounding the project. Witkoff said concerns that companies or governments were using the USD1 stablecoin to channel money to President Donald Trump’s family were not true. Witkoff said USD1 has more than $4 billion in circulation and records more than $1 billion in daily trading volume, which Witkoff described as evidence of use by real transactors. Witkoff also said Zach Witkoff has never discussed business matters with President Trump and will not do so in the future. Arcus, a decentralized exchange built through a collaboration between the dYdX development team and Robinhood Crypto, has launched the pToken protocol on Robinhood Chain, The Block reported. The tokenized accounts can also be used as collateral in other DeFi protocols, including on-chain lending markets. Previously, holders of tokenized stocks had to sell those tokens to trade futures, but they can now borrow the stablecoin USDG against stock tokens such as SPY, QQQ and MAG7 and use the proceeds as futures margin, according to The Block.
